1) ‘This Future is Currently Unavailable’
Collective expo Isola Design. In this exhibition, Social label presents three new products from its social sustainable design collection:

Social label >TRAP by Ineke Hans in collaboration with shelthered workshop De Winkel die Werkt & social firm Plan op Maat
Social label >HART by Petra Janssen (Studio Boot) in collaboration with TextielMuseum and Craft atelier Social label Lab Den Bosch
Social label > LOOK by Kranen/Gille in collaboration with Assembly atelier Social label Lab Den Bosch

New Social label product > HART
As part of the 10th anniversary, co-initiator and designer Petra Janssen (Studio Boot) created a design of a versatile cloth, for a smile and a tear or for practical use (wrapping or drying). She gathered her inspiration from the Social label community and the journey she took with co-initiator Simone Kramer (C-mone). This journey has been translated into a colorful fabric of various feelings, lows and highs as in real life. In cooperation with the TextielMuseum it was woven with golden hearts. The makers of Craft atelier Social label Lab make it into a cloth. Design with a special meaning.

New Social label product > TRAP
For Social Labels 10th anniversary, Ineke Hans designed a quirky, cheerful and multi-purpose collection for young and old, made with care at shelthered workshop De Winkel die Werkt & social firm Plan op Maat to take any step you want in your life. All models are provided with hefty dots by the makers. This gives them the opportunity to finish the design themselves and increases the pleasure of working and co-creating. Moreover, it gives each piece of furniture a cheerful touch and a personal signature. In the TRAP collection, you’ll find hybrid objects with and without handles: to sit on, to use as steps, as mini-desk, plant displays, side tables, or…. For example to hang your clothes on.

New Social label product > LOOK
Design duo Kranen/Gille previously devised Social label > KLUIS products for the desk, from storage locker to work lamp. Together with the participants of the Atelier Assembly in the Social label Lab -where Jos Kranen and Johannes Gilles are working weekly as atelier teachers- we now introduce Social label > LOOK. A handy wooden stand on which a coffee table book can be presented. This invites to look at a book like ‘Social label Works’ about 10 years of Social label or a favorite coffee-table book. With Social label > LOOK, the makers have added a new design product that can be cleverly put together and provides even more work variety in Social label’s Atelier assembly.

Hosted by The Social Hub in in partnership with Isola Design

SOCIAL LABEL MOVEMENT, DESIGN AND ACTION WITH MEANING
Designing labour as a statement for a different perspective on work and appreciation for all. From our base in the Social label Lab in Den Bosch, we are building a meaningful design collection and community, in collaboration with care, education and reintegration sectors. With this positive activism, Social label foundation is working to build a growing inclusive movement for an economy in which no one is left behind. With now over 50 socially sustainable design products together with the top in the Dutch design field, Social label ateliers and workshops in the Netherlands. An activity program and utensils for in and around the house. Social label celebrates people as playful beings, and works to cultivate an empathetic society.

Social label occupies a unique place within the design world as a forerunner in the field of “design with meaning”. Initiators Petra Janssen (Studio Boot) & Simone Kramer (C-mone) have been working for over 10 years to build a meaningful design collection & community. In collaboration with various partners in care and welfare, makers, designers and policy makers, Social label shapes an inclusive economy through design and communication. Some problems in our country are so big that you sometimes wonder if the government can solve it through laws and regulations. Therefore, we have been working for 10 years to set a positive example that it can be done through design doing. Design with meaning.

3) Too big to move, Gesamtkunstwerk Social label Lab Den Bosch

DESIGNLAB OF SOCIAL INNOVATION
In the Social label Lab for social innovation, different groups of creatives work under the supervision of atelier teachers in the ateliers craft, assembly, story, move & open. Through the power of design and communication, new opportunities arise for a better future in which each person with his or her talent is of value. Because creating something of functional or aesthetic value is important for everyone. Design as a means to come back and participate by making a meaningful contribution and being part of a bigger picture (pride, own value, identity). After all, why does all work have to go by the standards of speed and money? Why don’t we value differences, talents and make this a starting point? From the Social label Lab we argue with professionals from care and education for a different view on work as a benchmark to reform society and economy.
